Easy To Make Sparkling Pineapple Cocktail
28th November 2019
Pineapple can be a great flavour to add into a cocktail, not just that, it can be a great cup to drink your cocktail from, in this article I’ll show you how to make a simple pineapple cocktail to enjoy whenever you feel like one, but if you would like to create a cocktail where you drink from the pineapple, then check out our other article, Impress your friends with simple yet effective Fresh Fruit Fizz Cocktails!
I wanted this cocktail to be simple and easy to make, but yet still have an enjoyable taste, the Pothecary Organic Gin I selected had a zesty orange flavour to it which I thought created a pleasant combination with the pineapple juice and the Foss Marai Prosecco worked well because of it’s lighter green fruits and soft zestiness in the mouth.
Prosecco
Foss Marai started out in old rural buildings made only of wood, stones and bricks.
Foss Marai Strada di Guia 109 Extra Dry – Tasting Notes – “Green apples, pears and a hint of lemon on the nose. A soft zingy touch of citrus in the mouth with a hint of green apples. A Silver Medal Winner in the Zesty & Zingy Category at The World’s Finest Glass of Bubbly Awards 2019.”
Gin
Pothecary Gin was created by two friends Martin Jennings and Lukasz Dwornik who wanted to create organic, handcrafted, gin, they produce exciting gins that are well-balanced and refreshingly individual.
Handcrafted Pothecary Organic Gin Tasting Notes – “Zesty Orange notes both on the nose and on the palate.”
Cocktail
All I used in this Cocktail was:
- Prosecco
- Gin
- Pineapple Juice
- Pineapple
- To start it all of I poured in just under half a glass of Pineapple Juice.
- Then poured in just under half a glass of Prosecco (so that you have the about the same amount of Pineapple and Prosecco in your glass).
- Then I added in a shot glass of Gin (you may want to add more for a bigger kick)
- To finish it all off I cut out a triangle shaped piece of Pineapple and made an incision to then place it onto my glass.
Tasting Notes
Aroma – “Pineapple is the front aroma on the nose, but a hint of orange does come through from the Gin.”
Taste – “You get both the Pineapple and zesty orange flavours from the Pothecary Gin, the Prosecco helps by adding to the zestiness and by creating the fizziness in your mouth, the fruit flavours are prominent at the beginning, but then the Sparkling Wine and Gin comes through, with the Gin delivering a little kick at the back of the throat to finish it off.”
