Sharpham Sparkling Wines
18th February 2014
Sharpham is widely recognised as producing some of England’s most outstanding wines. We have been producing wine for nearly twenty five years.
Sharpham Sparkling 2010
Grape varieties: Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier & Pinot Gris.
A classic and stylish sparkling wine made in the traditional method. A refreshingly crisp initial palette followed by light biscuity notes and a long dry finish – decadance in a bottle.
Produced using the traditional method and bottle aged for nine months. A fresh, crisp style with elegant mousse and classy finish.
The grapes were harvested in 2010 and fermented in stainless steel. In 2011 we inoculated the wine with a small amount of yeast and sugar to induce the secondary fermentation. The wine then remained on the lees for a further 9 months before being disgorged.
Sharpham Sparkling Reserve NV
Grape variety: Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay
An elegant dry traditionally made sparkling wine with a rich depth of fruit which comes from the time it spends maturing on the lees. This is a beautifully balanced wine, perfect with canapés on any celebratory occasion!
The grapes were harvested in 2008 and 2009 and fermented in stainless steel. In 2010 we inoculated the wine with a small amount of yeast and sugar to induce the secondary fermentation. The wine then remained on the lees for a further 18 months before being disgorged.
Sharpham Sparkling Pink 2010
Grape varieties: Pinot Blanc & Pinot Noir.
EFFERVESCENTS DU MONDE 2013 INTERNATIONAL AWARD WINNER
A festive sparkling rosé wine made in the traditional method. This wine has a wonderful strawberry palate, with lovely refreshing citrus overtones.
The grapes were harvested and whole berry pressed in our three tonne modern Wilmes press. The juice is then fermented in stainless steel. In 2012 we inoculated the wine with a small amount of yeast and sugar to induce the secondary fermentation. The wine then remained on the lees for a further 9 months before being disgorged
