A colourful punch bowl is the centrepiece of the party, mixed with fruits, juice and fizz.

These recipes can use any kind of sparkling wine, a Prosecco is a good option.

Punch bowls are quick and easy to make. You can whip one together in a few minutes using just basic ingredients: Bubbly, ice, ginger ale and frozen fruit (generally strawberries or cranberries).

You can jazz it up by adding more alcohol (such as vodka or brandy), fruit juice or fresh herbs.

To get the best flavour, add in the ginger ale and any other alcohol (besides the wine) first and allow it to chill for an hour. Then stir in the sparkling wine and any garnishes, such as frozen fruit.

Basic Strawberry Punch
One Bottle of sparkling wine
One bottle of ginger ale
10 ounces of frozen strawberries
Add the ginger ale and wine, stir together before adding the strawberries.

Cranberry Punch

One bottle of ginger ale
Two tablespoons of orange liqueur
two handfuls of frozen cranberries
8 basil leaves
Start by adding the sparkling wine to the bowl, followed by gently adding the ginger ale and liqueur. Add the rest with some ice. Voila!

Apple Punch
One bottle of Prosecco
400ml of clouded apple juice
200ml of vodka
2 lemons (juiced)
