Champagne Infinite Eight - Butterfly Lovers Edition

For many products packaging is just as important and sometimes even more important to that of the product it contains, clever branding helps to drive sales and increases consumer awareness. In the wine industry this fact increases as many people, just like choosing a book in the library, are tempted by the packaging / label / name. A sample recently landed on my desk and it certainly raised an eyebrow when I read it was a whole new concept in that the bottle changes colour when it is ready to be served at the correct temperature.

The label in question is Champagne Infinite 8 who produce a selection of labels each with quite an eye-catching design to them.

Two Champagne enthusiasts (Nicolas LE TIXERANT Vigneron and Frank LEROUX Designer), decided several years ago to offer a sharp selection of vintage wines, they have combined their know-how and their passion to offer through the brand Infinite Eight, an exceptional range of Millésimes that will appeal to connoisseurs and connoisseurs of Champagne the most knowledgeable.” Origins of Champagne Infinite 8

The label in question I reviewed in the Cuvée Butterfly Lovers, what they say is ‘art infused with beauty and effervescence… ‘. The 2018 vintage comes in an attractive case and the bottle itself looks special and indeed does go from a simple plain white design to an eye-catching splash of pink butterflies and musical symbols. Added to this theme is the ability for you to download the music they have chosen to pair with the Champagne: The Legend of Butterfly Lovers by Yi-Jia Susanne Hou can be listened to and admired on a Youtube video shared for you below:

The extra celebration when enjoying this Champagne is that it blends in with the 60th anniversary of the famed musical composition that was based on a true Romeo & Juliet style story.

Maybe Champagne is something just to pop open and enjoy, regardless of the packaging or a theme it may carry, but on this occasion and with the ever so relaxing theme that if you take ten minutes to study, might make the tasting just that bit more special.

Champagne Infinite 8: The winery is based in Ville-Dommange which is close to the main town of Champagne, Reims.

Design: The packaging is provided by Distripac who provided the covering that reacts to the cold by revealing the spread of pink butterflies and musical symbols when the wine inside reaches the ideal serving temperature of approximately 9 degrees Celsius.
