Perrier-Jouët & The Ritz London Announce New Commis-Sommelier

Champagne Perrier-Jouët and The Ritz London are delighted to announce the appointment of Giuseppe Cola as the new Perrier-Jouët Ritz Commis-Sommelier for a 12month placement, following a rigorous monthlong recruitment process.

This new and innovative 12-month internship provides the opportunity to learn the skills of the Sommelier at one of the world’s most prestigious hotels and gain behind-the-scenes access to one of Champagne’s most exclusive Maisons. The position reflects the commitment of both Maison Perrier-Jouët and The Ritz London to training and nurturing talent in order to develop hospitality leaders of the future.

Cola has worked at The Ritz for the past year in The Ritz Restaurant, beginning as a Commis Waiter and quickly progressing to a Chef de Rang. part of the restaurant team under Executive Chef John Williams MBE.

An ambitious and creative worker, Cola graduated from the prestigious ALMA hospitality college in Italy before becoming assistant Food and Beverage manager at “Una Hotel & Resort” in the fashionable Riviera of Versilia in Tuscany. He moved to the UK in late 2014 and soon joined The Ritz.

Cola joins a specialist team of seven sommeliers at The Ritz London under the guidance of Ferlito. He will be mentored every step of the way as well as having the opportunity to visit Maison Perrier-Jouët at various key times during the year.

Perrier-Jouët’s is currently Champagne of the Month at The Ritz London.
