HRH The Duke of Kent to Visit Albury Vineyard
18th April 2016
His Royal Highness the Duke of Kent will be visiting Albury Vineyard on Wednesday 20th April to meet the team, view the vineyard and taste Albury wines. The visit comes the day before Her Majesty the Queen’s 90th birthday.
“We are incredibly excited that HRH The Duke of Kent is visiting Albury Vineyard. We are looking forward to showing him how we grow our organic vines and telling him about our naturally produced award-winning wines. We are proud to be part of the rapidly expanding English wine industry.
Nick Wenman (Owner)
Albury Vineyard is located in the beautiful Surrey Hills just outside of Guildford. They produce sparkling and still organic wines. The vineyard was planted in 2009 by owner Nick Wenman and comprises 21,000 vines spanning 12 acres across the North Down. Nick believes that the key to the success of the wines is the vineyard’s commitment to organic and biodynamic principles. Albury is one of only a handful of organic vineyards in England.
The first vintage of Albury’s award-winning Silent pool Rosé was served on the Royal Barge to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012. It was also the only Surrey wine to win a coveted gold award in the UKVA wine competition last year.
