Consumer advisor ‘Which?’ reveals their top Champagne
18th November 2015
Which?, created by the UK Consumer’s Association, is designed to promote, review, test and give honest advice to consumers about products on sale in the UK.
They have recently turned their sights back to Champagne in time for the festive season.
The test involved experts Charles Metcalfe, Kathryn McWhirter, Peter McCombie MW, Sam Caporn MW, and Anthony Rose who did a blind tasting on all the wines.
Results
The Champagne that came out on top was The Co-operative Les Pionniers NV Champagne, able to wow the judges with it’s balanced flavours and complexity. It received a top score of 85%. Currently only £16.99!
For a Brut Champagne, they recommend Waitrose Blanc de Blancs Brut NV which has apple and citrus notes and sold for under £25.
For top brand Champagnes, the judges chose Lanson Black Label, priced at £30.
