English Sparkling Wine under £25

If you haven’t tried English sparkling wine yet, here’s a few to get you started and they’re all under £25.

Exton Park Brut Reserve – £24.95

A beautifully smooth and easy sparkling English wine, Exton Park Brut Reserve is a multi-award winner in it’s first few months on the market.

An impressive apéritif or a wonderful accompaniment to salmon or white meat, this really is a sparkling wine for any occasion.

Chapel Down English Rose Sparkling – £21.99

The epitome of an English rose – delicate and feminine, with aromas of blackcurrant and a touch of rosehip. Delicate rose petal pink in colour with a fine prolonged mousse, light lemon sherbet on the nose with touches of blackcurrant, rosehip and wild strawberry on the palate. Perfect as an apéritif or with a Summer berry pudding.

Denbies Greenfields – £24.95

From an exceptional vintage (2009) with no late frost and a warm dry Summer, this is a nicely rounded sparkling wine with strong fruity flavours.

Denbies Greenfields is made from hand-picked grapes and has won several international Gold Awards over recent years.

Danebury Cossack – £21.99

A vintage sparkling wine made from a blend of the Auxerrois Blanc (Auxerrois Blanc is a cross between Gouais Blanc and Pinot Noir, which have the same ancestry as Chardonnay) and Rulander grapes (a German synonym for Pinot Gris).

It offers a delicate mousse, with notes of brioche and a refreshing citrus finish. Perfect with cheese and biscuits.

Ridgeview Bloomsbury Cuvée Merret Brut – £24.95

Ridgeview’s signature blend, the Bloomsbury is a light and fruity sparkling white. Predominantly Chardonnay in blend, this wine is suited well as an apéritif or a perfect partner to shellfish or oily fish. It is perfect for enjoying now or will age well over two to three years.

Bolney Bubbly NV – £22.99

A simple, light and refreshing vintage sparkling wine. Very easy to drink with a charming elderflower creaminess.

Made from Chardonnay & Muller Thurgau grapes. Great as an apéritif – with a sweet apple palate.

Three Choirs Classic Cuvée Reserve Non-Vintage – £16.95

A complex sparkling white wine, Three Choirs’ Classic Cuvee Reserve is both fruity and fresh.

The dominant Seyval Blanc grape is nicely complemented by the addition of Pinot Noir to give a well rounded flavour.

Renishaw Hall Sparkling Pink – £23.99

Renishaw wine is produced from grapes grown at Renishaw Hall’s historic vineyard, which at 40 years of age is one of the most established vineyards in the country – and was once the most northerly vineyard in the world.

Renishaw Hall pink sparkling wine is particularly fine, a beautifully light pink liquid with very smooth mousse and a red berry flavour.

Wiston Estate Rosé Non-Vintage – £23.95

Using grapes from Wiston and neighbouring Norbertine Priory vineyard, the Wiston Non-Vintage Rosé is a fresh and fruity choice, which will definitely leave you wanting more.

More fruity and less complex than the 2011 vintage.

Jenkyn Place Brut – £24.99

This is a traditional sparkling wine made from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. It has brioche aromas and high crisp acidity, plenty of bubbles and some minerality on a broad mid-palate.
