Camel Valley – Pinot Noir Rose 2014 – Trophy Summer Days
4th December 2017
Congratulations to Camel Valley with their Pinot Noir Rose 2014 which received a Trophy at The World’s Finest Glass of Bubbly awards 2017.
A panel of 36 top industry wine judges tasted all the entries for 2017 and were able to not only scores wines with medals, but also place them in to easy to understand categories such as Summer Days: “Does not have to be a highly complicated wine. Will offer a light, fruity and easy going taste.”
Really individual English style in the best possible way. Characteristic aromas of wild strawberries and raspberries, very well balanced with a pure, refreshing finish. Mouth-watering. This wine has spent 12 months on the lees for fruit freshness and resulting in a fresh yeasty character.
“If you are looking to explore the splendour of English wines, both sparkling and still, then Camel Valley has to be one of those wineries you simply can not ignore. Their sparkling wines have always seen many compliments during tastings we have organised and this is why I am particularly pleased that our 36 judges agreed and Camel Valley took away one of our trophies this year – Congratulations to this family producer from Cornwall.” Christopher Walkey
When ex-RAF pilot Bob Lindo and his wife Annie planted their first eight thousand vines in 1989, they never dreamed of the phenomenal success they would achieve within 2 decades. They had bought their farm in the heart of the Cornish countryside several years earlier, seeking a change from service life and the perfect place to bring up their young family, and initially farmed sheep and cattle. Each summer they watched the grass turn brown on the sun-drenched slopes of the Camel Valley, and wondered if vines might enjoy such an aspect… They now have a cabinet full of trophies and their wines are sold internationally.
