Wiston Estate Sparkling Wines
19th August 2014
NON-VINTAGE
In 2009 Wiston Estate began working with several partner vineyards on the South Downs, also planted on chalk, to source fruit to complete its non-vintage wines. These wines have been fermented in stainless steel tanks in the winery before going through a second fermentation in bottle for a number of years in our cellars. The goal was to create wines which are stylistically individual yet share the same characteristics that guide our winemaking; purity of fruit, precision of flavour, freshness and maturity.
WISTON ROSÉ NV
With a combination of grapes from Wiston and the neighbouring Norbertine Priory vineyard, it captures the red-berry flavours of summer, with an exceptional freshness that makes one go back for more.
“This is a joyous warm-weather fizz striking just the right balance between accessibility and interest. Its perfumed nose hints at summer fruits (redcurrants and raspberry) before a creamy, textured palate adds gravitas.” Hamish Anderson – The Daily Telegraph
WISTON BRUT NV
In some people’s mind the perfectly balanced wine, made up of the three classic varieties; Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier in equal parts. This wine is an excellent way to begin a journey with Wiston.
WISTON BLANC DE BLANCS NV
One of our favourites and a delightfully fresh and vibrant balance of the 2010 and 2011 vintages. The chardonnay in this wine strikes notes that would get Thom Yorke smiling.
“Great nose with plenty of passionfruit and pineapple balancing the bready, leesy notes. Crisp, fresh and very dry.” Zack Charilaou (Head Sommelier -Gaucho’s)
WISTON BLANC DE NOIRS NV
The combination of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier in this wine creates a full bodied and fruit driven flavour that explores all contours of the palate. A fascinating peek under the bonnet of Dermot’s skills as a winemaker. Prepare to be intrigued.
