Ambriel launches Blanc de Noirs

22nd September 2014

Ambriel Blanc de Noirs launched on Friday 19th September 2014.

The English Sparkling wine made from Pinot Noir grapes ripened on the sunny south-facing slopes of Sussex. Matured on the lees for 3 years, the initial sip is of fresh lime and ripe peach, making way for honeycomb and warmed brioche. It has a fine, lively mousse and a limber finish.

Ambriel

In the wine world, single-vineyard Sparkling wine – such as Ambriel – is rare. We only use grapes that we have nurtured ourselves and we refuse to make wine for anybody else. This means that we have complete control over the winemaking process from grape to glass. As founding partners, we are involved in every aspect of the creation of our wines. You can find us pruning in the vineyard in the depths of winter, cleaning the press at midnight in late October and of course tasting, tasting, tasting.

Ambriel Blanc de Noirs was made from our Pinot Noir grapes which were hand-picked on 15th and 16th September 2010. It was bottled on 17th May 2011 and stayed on the lees for about 3 years until it was disgorged on 19th March 2014. We have kept it for 6 months post-disgorgement to allow the wine to integrate and relax.
