Congratulations to No 1 Family Estate with their No. 1 Reserve  which received a Gold medal at The World’s Finest Glass of Bubbly awards 2017.

A panel of 36 top industry wine judges tasted all the entries for 2017 and were able to not only scores wines with medals, but also place them in to easy to understand categories such as Creamy: “A soft rounded wine, almost reminds you of biscuity / brioche in aroma and taste.”

“Introduced into the New Zealand market in July 1999, No. 1 was the first wine to be produced by proprietors Adele and Daniel Le Brun at their family owned winery, established 1997. Today the N° 1 Family Estate has an established vineyard and winery on Marlborough’s Golden Mile, Rapaura Rd, near Blenheim, crushing more than 30 tonnes annually. The family are committed to producing only premium Methode Traditionelle wines and to following winemaker, Daniel Le Brun’s long-held vision of Marlborough as the only rival to Champagne. Cuvée N° 1 is already highly regarded and well renowned, both throughout New Zealand and internationally, winning numerous Trophies, Gold Medals and Five star awards since its release.” Quote from website

Each year, a limited amount of our Cuvée No1 is set aside for long-term aging on lees and released after several years; giving it the title “Reserve”. The palate is intensely flavoured and focused with the good fruit-yeast balance providing elegance and style. The extended lees aging has given it extra richness with complex biscuity notes, a well-balanced delicate freshness and a lengthy finish.
