The World’s Best Champagnes 2020 – All under £100 each
18th January 2021
Defining what the best is of anything is not always clear cut. Does it mean the best as in being first place or does it mean best is the most suitable for a set requirement.
Excellence: Best can be achievement, the most excellent, the highest performer, the greatest amount, surpassing all others.
Suitable: Best can be suitability such as desirability, solution, added emphasis in descriptions (best clothing for cold weather), useful.
It is important to remember that best is not always the greatest, you can be the best at running 10,000 metres, but show in a poor performance at the 100 metres – best at running no, best at running 10,000 metres yes.
In most parts, we use the term best when describing something being at the top, first place, the best performer in the said situation against a said amount of competition. You can only be the best against what is up against you.
The World’s Best Champagne 2020:
The Champagne and Sparkling Wine Awards that take place each year in London saw 2020 received the biggest amount of entries ever and judges arriving nationally and internationally to taste through and score labels from across the globe. From Japan to Argentina, reds to whites, bubbly wine were judged, scored and categorised to decide whom were the best in categories and the best overall.
The great thing about the Glass of Bubbly awards is that all wines are judged blind. No one know what the bottles contain and from where it comes, the best are chosen purely on merit of aromas and flavours – The best in the bottles are what take home the trophies each year and many times surprises are many as we uncover some real gems from across the globe.
Champagne makes always frequent appearances when it comes to the best being chosen, this classic sparkling wine region of France is unique in so many ways, and with a detailed and long history, wine makers continue to deliver some of the most amazing wines you can hope to enjoy. The 2020 Champagne and Sparkling Wine Awards delivered France 5 category trophies and also the main prize of ‘The World’s Finest Glass of Bubbly for 2020‘.
