Desserts made with Champagne or Sparkling Wine

Adding Champagne or sparkling wine can give an extra touch of sparkle to dessert. Here are some ideas that use Champagne or sparkling wine as an ingredient, it doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy a glass of bubbly as well though!

Pink Champagne Velvet Layer Cake
This one’s for the bakers out there. This cake is pink, light, fluffly and would certainly impress at a dinner party. It uses a Champagne reduction rather than straight Champagne to give a more intense flavour profile.

Poached Pears in Vanilla and Champagne
A classic dessert. Create a simple syrup from sugar, water, vanilla pulp and Champagne, then let the pears poach in it for 6-8 minutes.

Fresh Grape and Champagne Sorbet
Cool, sweet and refreshing. Once the ingredients have been combined it takes 5 hours to set. Serve in Champagne coupes.

Champagne Macaroons
Perfect French treat! Macaroons are great for celebrations and with Champagne they’re even better.

Prosecco Summer Fruit Jelly
This easy fizzy jelly recipe is packed with fruits and plenty of flavour. Keep all the ingredients cold before making it and the Prosecco should keep its fizz when you eat it! Use a combination of your favourite fruits, but avoid kiwi or pineapple as it can stop the jelly from setting.

Strawberry Prosecco Float
Super simple cross between a cocktail and a dessert. Add a scoop of ice cream and strawberry to the bottom of each glass then top up with Prosecco. Serve with a straw and a spoon.
