4 English Rosé Sparkling Wines

Looking into a glass and seeing a shade of pink, it’s a rosé, a possible delicate blend of aromas and flavours or a strong punchy expression, either way, it will bring you one step back into relaxation, removing the troubles of the world from your mind and allowing you to just enjoy this moment.
You and the Glass
English Rosé, one that’s fairly new in the vast history of winemaking, but one that deserves our attention, I’m going to show you 5 very fine examples of English Rosé sparkling wines, give you some information on the winery and my tasting notes, so hopefully, this article will help you further understand English Rosé’s and find a bottle you’d like to try.
1 – Fox & Fox
Jonica Fox and her husband Gerard Fox planted their first vine in 2004, it was Gerard that inspired Jonica to get into the fizz business after he tasted some English Sparkling Wine at an event in London in 2003 and by 2009 they had started producing their own Sparkling Wine. They currently own 30 acres and grow the following grapes: Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.

Fox & Fox – Expression Rosé 2014 – Tasting Notes
Aroma – “👃Sweet jam-like aromas of strawberries and raspberries, with peach and orange blossom.”
Taste – “👅Soft and smooth, a relaxing taste of red berries, strawberries, raspberries and even touching on floral notes.”
This English Sparkling Wine Won the Trophy in the Winter Warmer Category at the Glass of Bubbly Awards 2020.
2 – Fitz – Fitz Pink
Fitz, a Sparkling Wine Made in England, but can’t be called English Fizz, a triumphant story of determination against a system, to be called English Sparkling Wine if has to be made with the Traditional (Champagne) Method, but Fitz wanted to use the Charmat (Prosecco) Method, so that’s why they say their Sparkling Wine is Made In England.
Everything about this bottle is about going against the tide and creating something new and unique, the label, with 9 crowns, but one upside down, and their name Fitz comes from Anglo‐Norman times, they found the name FitzRoy, this name in many cases was given to the illegitimate son or daughter of a king to mark their Royal parent, originally the name meant ‘Son of the king’.

Aroma – “👃Strawberry dessert aromas, strawberry sweets and strawberry jam.”
Taste – “👅Slightly dryer on the palate with simular strawberry sweets and a delightful strawberry jam.”
This Made In England Sparkling Wine Won a Silver Medal in the Gastronomic Category at the Glass of Bubbly Awards 2020.
3 – Camel Valley
An English Sparkling Wine with a great honour, by Command of His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales, Camel Valley has been awarded the Royal Warrant, which they proudly show on their bottles.

Aroma – “👃White strawberry, strawberry yogurt and chewy strawberry sweets with peach and pink floral aromas.”
Taste – “👅A crisp and alive rosé, English country garden flavours ideal for that Summer’s day in the park or garden.”
This English Sparkling Wine Won a Gold Medal in the Gastronomic Category at the Glass of Bubbly Awards 201.
4 – Poulton Hill Vineyard – Bulari Rosé 2015
Poulton Hill Estate is a small family-run vineyard in the Cotswolds, it is situated in the idyllic Cotswold countryside, near the Roman town of Cirencester and Regency spa town of Cheltenham. It was founded in 2010 and produces limited batches of wine from grapes harvested by hand.

Aroma – “👃Candy raspberries, freshly cut nettles and floral aromas.”
Taste – “👅Orange blossom, dry raspberry and floral/blossom on the palate.”
